I have an outdated backup I want to delete.  I have somehow lost the ability to do so within Backup utility.  When I try to simply delete the backup data within the basic drivehq desktop manager, it gives me this message that says it may harm applications or some such.  Can't I simply delete this backed up file from within drive HQ desktop manager? or how best to delete it?

If you are sure to delete the files, then you can ignore the warning message. Yes, you can delete the files using FileManager.
