Dear drivehq.com. I am a new user but so far i am very satisfied with your service. But i have a small prolem, whch i tihink you will be able to help me.

I am using ubuntu 11.10 and I want to write a small script which will upload/update a certan file once a day. I do i using this script belo. I connect, change the mode to passive and the file transfer mode to binary, but when i use the put command (i intend to upload in the root directory) i have an error. Please help me.

What should i do? Please help.

Do you have this folder ( /home/lamersoft/P ) already created? If not, please create the folder first.

Please try to change:

put  /home/lamersoft/P

to:

cd  /home/lamersoft

put p

Thank you for the fast response. I have created on the ftp folder /home/lamesoft and after that i could upload the file P.zip to it. My question is. If the file P.zip is situated on my computer in /home/lamersoft how can i upload it on the ftp in directory called /lamersoft/ ?

* FIXED Again thank you very much for your tips. The solution to my problem:

ftp -i -n ftp.drivehq.com
passive
user my_username my_password
binary
put /home/lamersoft/P.zip /lamersoft/P.zip
