 Hello,

I opened my CameraFTP account yesterday and I always used Google (sign in with Google) instead of opening a separate account with you with some other email address and specific password for your site. That way, obviously, I was not able to set up any specific password for your site. So my question is - what is my FTP password in that case if I want to download my recordings from the Cloud? I tried to use my Gmail username - guysheaven - without @gmail.com) and my Gmail password as credentials for your FTP, but that doesn't work. I always get the error message that either the username or password is wrong. Could someone please help me with this?

If you use CameraFTP apps or CameraFTP.com website, you can use "Sign in with Google" to log in. If you only need to download a few files, you can log in to www.cameraftp.com, go to My Cameras page, then click the folder icon below your camera thumbnail. You can locate the file(s) in the camera folder, check the checkbox(es) and click Download to download a single file, or download multiple files as a zip file.

If you want to download a lot of files, or download the entire camera folder, then you can use an FTP client such as FileZilla. You cannot use "Sign in with Google" with an FTP client. In this case, you can:

(1) Use the camera's FTP password. Just log in to www.cameraftp.com website, click the Settings icon below your camera thumbnail. If the camera is bound with a camera license, then you can find the FTP password associated with the camera license.

(2) Set your regular account password. Log in to www.cameraftp.com, go to Account Details page, click Change My Password. You can then log in to CameraFTP directly with your CameraFTP username and password.

I tried that in both Chrome and Firefox on my laptop, but when I select one (or a few files) from the list and press the download button, I get a blank white screen and no file is downloaded. It seems like a bug to me. Can you please check it yourself?

On the other hand, I have successfully set up a password for your site, and it seams that now I can login to ftp with my current user name and that password.

I Just tested it and found the problem. The (browser-based) download feature only works for files. You actually selected a folder(s). Please click the folder/subfolder names until you see a list of files. Then you can select one or more files and click Download to download them.  We will try to improve this feature, possibly support downloading a few small folders. To download large folders or many files, it is more efficient using an FTP client, or even DriveHQ FileManager client. Please watch the tutorial video linked in the previous reply.

I'm afraid that it doesn't work for individual files either. Even when I enter any individual folder and select one or more files,  and press the download button I only get the blank screen and the download does not start.

I've just bought a subscription for your service and I don't understand how your server decides what will be recorded into the cloud and what will be recorded locally. It appears to be totally random or arbitrary, which is not good. When I look for example at the latest  past hour, there are random bits and pieces that are recorded in red color (which means onto the cloud), and the rest is blue (or recorded locally). When I bought your subscription I thought that everything would be recorded into the cloud. Correct me if I'm wrong?

Additionally, when I download any of the files (or most of the files) via FTP, and try to play them in VLC player or any other player, it seems that they are corrupted and won't play.

Can you please look into this?

Our engineers checked the issue carefully but they cannot replicate the problem. I just tested it myself. There is no problem to download files or folders using a regular web browser. The video files also don't have any problems.

If you need to download a lot of files/folders, it is still recommended using an FTP client such as FileZilla. Please watch this video https://youtu.be/9GCtngFaw4c about how to download the recorded footage.

If you still have any issues downloading your footage or playing any video files, we can try to help you remotely with DriveHQ Team Anywhere remote desktop/screen-sharing service.
