CameraFTP Support

Incompatible Cameras

Most network cameras support uploading images/video clips to an FTP/SMTP server for remote recording; some other cameras can email images when motion is detected. CameraFTP completely optimizes cloud recording & surveillance service for IP cameras, supporting FTP-based and email/SMTP-based upload.

It is impossible for us to test all the many IP camera brands and models available, though we do our best to provide details and setup manuals to as many as possible.

Please keep in mind when you read our camera manuals, new versions of the device hardware or software could have been released by the vendor since our manual was created. If you found our information is incorrect or not up-to-date, please report it to us so that we can update it ASAP.

Here are a few cameras that we have found to be not compatible with our Cloud Recording service.

Camera Brand / Model Description
Hootoo HT-HS003 We have not directly tested the camera; however, by reading the camera manual it does not support FTP nor email (SMTP), so it cannot be used to upload image/video clips directly to CameraFTP. We are not sure if it supports ONVIF and RTSP. If so, you might be able to use CameraFTP VSS software to upload video clips.
Sricam We have tested only one Sricam model which appears to function similarly to Dropcam/Nest (read below), though there is very limited product documentation provided by Sricam. Reading the documentation, it seems most of their cameras don't support FTP upload, thus it probably is not compatible with our service. However, their cameras support email notification, you probably can use our email upload feature for cloud recording. If you have not ordered any cameras, we would recommend to order a different brand, such as Wansview, or our own bundled solution. If you have already ordered a Sricam camera and if you are tech savvy, please let us know if you can configure it to upload data to CameraFTP.
Most Sricam cameras support ONVIF / RTSP, so you probably can use CameraFTP VSS to record video clips to the cloud.
Nestcam / Dropcam Nest Cam / Dropcam are "closed" devices, meaning they do not support any IP camera standard protocols such as ONVIF, RTSP, FTP, etc. Therefore, the devices will only work with Nests own cloud service, which is considerably more expensive than CameraFTP. Moreover, CameraFTP offers greater control over service plans with a wider variety of options.
Hosafe We tested one Hosafe outdoor camera and found that it does not support FTP upload. It can email image snapshots when a motion is detected. However, the image size is not configurable at a very small size. If you've purchased this camera, you can configure it with our email uploader. Overall, it is not directly compatible with our service.
Most Hosafe cameras support ONVIF / RTSP, so you can use CameraFTP VSS to record video clips to the cloud.
Samsung HD Pro WiFi IP Camera (SNH-P6410BN)
Samsung Smartcam SNH-V6414BN
Samsung SmartCam HD SNH-E6413BN
Samsung SNH-1011 Wireless IP Camera
The Samsung Smartcam model (SNH-P6410BN) looks almost identical to Foscam C2!

Unfortunately, this series of cameras' firmware is extremely weak. It does not even support FTP or standard SMTP! Why not just buy a Foscam C2? (or Wansview K1 or D-Link) (We have not tested these cameras. By reading Samsung's product manuals, we believe they are incompatible with our service. )
These Samsung cameras support ONVIF / RTSP. If you have already bought them, you probably can use CameraFTP VSS to record video clips to the cloud.
Ouvis Veezon VZ1 Wireless WiFi 720P We have not tested this Ouvis Veezon camera model yet. We will try to review it later. If you have bought one, please email us the screenshots of the camera's configuration site.

This camera seems to support RTSP. So you probably can use CameraFTP VSS to connect to the camera for local live view, local recording and cloud recording. If you have not already bought one, it is not a recommended brand / model.
Vimtag P1 Wireless Network Security Camera
Vimtag VT-361 PTZ Cloud Camera
We have not tested Vimtag cameras yet. We will try to review them later. If you have bought one, please email us the screenshots of the camera's configuration site.

These cameras seem to support RTSP. So you probably can use CameraFTP VSS to connect to them for local live view, local recording and cloud recording. If you have not already bought one, it is not a recommended brand / model.
UOKOO Mini IP Camera HD 720P
YI 87003 Home Camera
YI Technology Camera 87002
We have not tested UOKOO and Yi cameras yet. We will try to review them later. If you have bought one, please email us the screenshots of the camera's configuration site. Based on limited information, these two cameras can be partially supported by CameraFTP with our email uploader feature. For more detailed information, please visit Nest Cam alternative cameras

These cameras seem to support RTSP. So you probably can use CameraFTP VSS to connect to them for local live view, local recording and cloud recording.
Simplicam HD WiFi Home Video Monitoring Camera Like Nest Cam, this is a proprietary IP camera that will only work with its bundled subscription service of Closeli.
Arlo Smart Security Camera (VMC3030)
Arlo Q Plus - 1080p HD (VMC3040S)
Like Nest Cam, this is a proprietary IP camera that will only work with its bundled subscription service.
Canary All-in-One Home Security Device
Canary CAN100USBK or Canary CAN100USWT
We have not tested Canary All-in-One Home Security Device yet. We will try to review it later. If you have bought one, please email us the screenshots of the camera's configuration site.

These cameras seem to support RTSP. So you probably can use CameraFTP VSS to connect to them for local live view, local recording and cloud recording. If you have not already bought one, it is not a recommended brand / model.

For those users who have ordered a camera that is listed here, there are a few options:
- (1) Contact the manufacturer and see if they have a newer version firmware that supports FTP or email upload;
- (2) If you have a PC, you can install CameraFTP VSS software. If the camera supports RTSP and/or ONVIF, then VSS probably can connect to the camera's video stream and upload video clips to the cloud;
- (3) Return the camera and order a compatible camera, or order our bundled plan.

If you find that our information is incorrect, please contact us and we will fix it ASAP.

For camera manufacturers, resellers and installers, you are welcome to partner with us. Please test your camera with our service. If it works, please email us the detailed information. We may include your camera or service information in our support pages.
