Remote Assistance - Help Configure Your Device Remotely
CameraFTP Cloud Recording service is compatible with most non-proprietary IP cameras and NVRs.
We have created Setup Guide documents for many camera brands and models. If your model is not
listed, it might still work with our service. Please read a few Setup Guide documents. The steps are usually similar.
Configuring an IP camera or NVR for cloud recording can be challenging if you are not tech-savvy.
Unfortunately we cannot pre-configure them because we don't make IP cameras. Users need to configure their devices themselves.
For paid members or users who are interested in ordering a subscription, we might be able
to help configure it remotely, if the device is compatible with our service.
There is no risk as you don't have to order a subscription.
Please Note: Proprietary IP cameras are locked in with their manufacturers. They cannot be configured to work with any 3rd party service or software.
CameraFTP support engineers respect your privacy. They will use their best effort to help configure your device. The support service is free.
By accepting it, you agree that it is provided "as is" without any warranties, and you waive any right to hold DriveHQ liable
for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages that may result from it.
Remote Support Method 1: Use DriveHQ Team Anywhere
Most IP cameras and NVRs can be configured using a web browser, or a desktop app. If so,
we can use DriveHQ Team Anywhere
to remotely connect to your PC or MAC. Then we can use a web browser or a desktop app to configure your device.
For this to work, first, you need to connect your device to the network. Ideally, you can find the device's local IP address;
then use a web browser to connect to the camera. If the device is bundled with a desktop app, please install the app
and use it to connect to your device.
Then you need to install DriveHQ Team Anywhere, which is a powerful remote desktop, screen sharing and remote assistance application.
After you install DriveHQ Team Anywhere on your PC or MAC, please run it and then email us your Team Anywhere device ID.
A support engineer can then connect to your PC within a couple hours.
You need to manually accept the connection request. If you email us your Device ID and password, then
we can connect to your device directly. During the remote session, you can interact with the support engineer.
Remote Support Method 2: Make Your Device Accessible Remotely
You can make your IP camera or NVR accessible from the Internet. This will significantly increase the risk of your device being hacked.
It is recommended to install the latest firmware from the vendor and change the default device password. After we finish configuring the
device, it is recommended to make it inaccessible from the Internet again.
First, you need to find the device's local IP address and the URL to access the device's configuration interface. For example,
if the device's IP address is 192.168.1.200, and the URL is:
http://192.168.1.200:8080/
You can use the Port Forwarding feature of your router,
forward the inbound Internet traffic with the destination Port 8080 to the local IP address 192.168.1.200 and Port 8080.
Then you also need to find your Internet IP address. Just open Google or Bing and type: "what is my IP".
Please email us your Internet IP address and the URL to access your camera.
We can then use a web browser to access your camera's configuration interface remotely.
In this case, we will not be sharing the screen with you, and we will need your device's username and password to log in to its configuration interface.
