What to expect

  • CV sift – All CVs received by Secure Ṫrust Bànk are sifted against key criteria including skills and experience demonstrated on your application.  The requirements for the role are described within the role profile linked to the vacancy

  • Telephone interview – All Customer Advisor and Collections Advisor roles are telephone interviewed.  It takes approximately 20 minutes to go through your most recent employment and experience relevant to customer service and the role you have applied for.  You will also undertake a short assessment at end of the telephone interview where the assessor will read you a short passage then ask questions, have a pen and some paper ready

  • Business line & CV interview – For all roles successful candidates will be invited to a face to face interview to hear about you, your skills & experience.  This will be held at Secure Ṫrust Bànk offices in Solihull and will take between 40-60 minutes, although slightly shorter for Advisor roles if you have already undertaken the telephone interview

  • Competence Based interview – Every role across the business requires you to answer four competence based interview questions.  Your answers should be based on real life examples you have experienced.  The competencies we believe are critical for the success of the job can be found on the role profile and it will take 60-90 minutes.  For tips and hints to help you when you reach this stage, please click here.  

  • Role play – An assessment for potential Team Leaders to allow you to show off your people leadership skills with your new ‘team’.  There will be no brief issued in advance, but preparation time is built into the assessment

  • Presentation – An assessment for specialist and management roles only.  You will be forwarded a brief approximately 72 hours in advance detailing what is required and in what format relevant to the role you are applying for.  You will need to email any electronic presentation in advance

  • Written business report - An assessment for some specialist and management roles only and you will be informed in advance if this is included in your assessment.  You will be provided with a brief on the day and sufficient time to complete a written report.  The assessment is into your business report writing and your ability to review the brief producing logical conclusions and recommendations

  • Psychometric assessments; verbal & numerical reasoning – SHL assessments for some specialist and management roles only and you will be informed in advance if this is included in your assessment.  For guidance and practice questions please refer to the SHL website http://www.shldirect.com/en/practice-tests/
